Here you’ll find a list of fly fishing clubs that I believe are currently active, stretching from San Diego up through Orange County and into Los Angeles County. Clubs north of Los Angeles aren’t listed, as those tend to fall more into Central California, and this site focuses on Southern California, where I’m based.
There were a few clubs I chose not to include due to a lack of recent activity. One hasn’t shown signs of life in about three years, and another for well over ten. My goal here is simple: only active fly fishing clubs—the ones that are still meeting, fishing, and keeping the sport alive.
So… why list fly fishing clubs at all? Because just like fly shops, I believe fly fishing clubs are a vital part of the sport. Clubs are a great place to learn how to cast a fly rod, tie flies, listen to guest speakers, and—best of all—get out on the water with a group of like-minded anglers. If you’re looking to get more involved, many clubs offer plenty of ways to do just that.
If you notice a club listed here that shouldn’t be, or if I’ve missed one that’s active, please contact me and let me know. I’m always happy to update the list.
Thanks for stopping by, and tight lines… SoCal Perky
